This past month has been an eventful period for Joyned, as we attended two exciting industry meetings: the Amadeus APAC Airline Forum and the Virtuoso Travel Tech Summit. Both provided the team with incredible opportunities to share our vision for the future of travel and to connect with like-minded industry leaders who are shaping the next generation of travel experiences.
Joyned Managing Director of Travel, Sergio Vargas Johansson, delivered a compelling presentation on the significance of social revenue within the booking experience at the Amadeus APAC Airline Forum in Thailand. As Sergio emphasized, the future of travel lies in creating a more collaborative and engaging booking journey. His insights were well-received, sparking valuable discussions on how the industry can evolve to meet the demands of modern travelers.
The Forum also highlighted the critical importance of modern retailing for airlines, emphasizing three key takeaways. Firstly, modern retailing practices enable airlines to offer more personalized and flexible experiences, improving customer satisfaction and fostering loyalty. Secondly, technologies like NDC (New Distribution Capability) give airlines more control over how they distribute their products, allowing for more dynamic and customized pricing strategies. And finally, modern travelers expect seamless, personalized, and flexible retail experiences – airlines that embrace these practices can better meet their evolving demands. But for us, a standout insight from the event was that modern customers increasingly expect to collaborate with friends and family while shopping online.
Meanwhile, Bryan London and Alexandre Jorre, our new industry experts, represented Joyned at the Virtuoso Travel Tech Summit, sharing our mission to make travel planning a more social and connected experience. The event centered on the intersection of travel and technology, with a particular focus on the role of AI and innovative startups in the industry. As technology advances, there’s a natural concern that AI could replace travel advisors, but that hasn’t been the case yet. Interestingly, Bryan and Alex noted in their discussions that while travel advisors still value personal interactions, they are also equally open to embracing AI to streamline their work.
The team thoroughly enjoyed attending both events and is looking forward to upcoming ones, including the Skift Global Forum and the Phocuwright Conference, highlighting our commitment to staying at the forefront of travel technology and fostering meaningful partnerships within the industry.
